In this project we took a 30 year old kitchen that was beginning to look dated and transformed it into a modern efficient cooking space.  While the overall layout is similar to the previous kitchen, the functionality is very different.  The all new cabinets with black granite counter-tops and the multi-hued marble back-splash project an elegance lacking previously.  When working with a kitchen where space is at a premium, the extra money that a counter depth refrigerator costs can be money very well spent.  Double wall ovens and a five burner cook-top lend themselves to some serious cooking, while the whisper-quiet dishwasher won't intrude on after-dinner conversation.  The microwave in the island is a touch that frees up a lot of counter space.  The new kitchen transforms the space.

About the project

Like a lot of design projects, this one was a collaboration.  The home owners had very specific ideas about what they wanted, such as double wall ovens (not oven/microwave combinations) and the sink centered under the window, but in a tight space getting it all in and still retain functionality can be a real challenge.  We went through many designs before settling with this one.  It was then up to the contractor to put it all together.  As you can see, it came together very well.
