The Projects

There are two basic types of kitchen renovations.  With the first type, you refresh it with new cabinets, counter-tops and appliances, but the layout of the space remains essentially unchanged.  That would be the first kitchen shown below (pictures 1-5), where we replaced a dated 70's kitchen with a sleek modern design more in keeping with the client's preferences.

For the second, you start with a blank piece of paper and say, I wonder how it would work if we moved this over there and that over here and opened up this wall here and......  The second kitchen shown (photos 6-11), was the latter type. Where the desk is, was the refrigerator.  Where the sink and dishwasher are was a kitchen table.  The stove stayed put. The sink was where the walkway into the breakfast room is, which was where the pantry now is, and so on.  In this case we transformed a small dark kitchen from the 60's into a bright, modern, functional kitchen which still looks fresh after 15 years.

The first project is located in Del Mar, California and the second in Delta, British Columbia
